It’s been three years since DashCon and Fyre Fest has happened. Meaning that in accordance to the Rule of Three, in another three years, a third and final gathering catastrophe will occur with its own symbol joining the ball pit and concierge stand to create an ungodly trifecta.

I cannot wait.

I’ve spoken up about this before, and it might seem nitpicky, but it’s the difference that lets people claim that being antisemitic isn’t even about Jews.

Oh wow. I had no clue. If y'all see me do this, call me out please.

Black Earth Rising’: BBC & Netflix Trailer for Michaela Coel-Fronted Genocide Drama

The story, which is set across the UK, Europe, Africa and the U.S., centers on Kate Ashby, played by Coel, who was rescued as a young child during the Rwandan genocide and adopted by Eve Ashby (Harriet Walter), a world-class British prosecutor in international criminal law. Kate was raised in Britain and, now in her late 20s, she works as a legal investigator in the law chambers of Michael Ennis (John Goodman). When Eve takes on a case at the International Criminal Court, prosecuting an African militia leader, the story pulls Michael and Kate into a journey that will upend their lives forever.

The eight-part drama is described as a labyrinthine thriller about the prosecution of international war crimes and the personal, legal and political turmoil it ignites as well as the West’s relationship with contemporary Africa.

On Netflix USA 25 January 2019

The real problem with books-turned-movies isn’t “omg they didn’t include every single word in the book” it’s “omg they completely overlooked the main theme, threw out any significant allegories, took away all the emotional pull, an turned it into a boring action movie with a love triangle in it”

the hunger games is a really good example bc on the base textual level of stuff like what happens and the order of events they got it mostly right but they also

  1. whitewashed half or more of the cast
  2. removed multiple canonical disabilities in main characters
  3. marketed it as a love triangle
  4. basically did literally everything the villains of the book did which made it super fucking obvious

why is this new kevin hart & bryan cranston film implying that kevin hart could get with a woman like aja naomi king?

Also she’s like 10+ years his junior. Can Hollywood stop doing that to women, please?

“biological sex is a social construct” doesn’t mean “chromosomes, anatomy, hormones, and genitalia don’t exist”. it means “these exist, but assigning roles, labels, and expectations to certain combinations of these characteristics is a social construct, and an unnecessary and pointless (actually harmful) one at that”.
